January 2019

From The Principal...

Dear Parents,

Warm Greetings from SIS!

"For last year's words belong to last year's language And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning."  by T. S. Eliot. The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.

The SIS celebrated the 70th Republic Day of our nation. We were hounoured to have Ms. Asha Lakra, Mayor, Ranchi Municipal Corporation and a great leader, with us on 26th January, 2019 to hoist the Republic Day flag. We also had the privilege of Ms. Asha Lakra inaugurating the 'Science, Mathematics and Social Studies Exhibition - 2019' on the Republic Day.

The Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950, replacing the Government of India Act of 1935, as the governing document of India. The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, and came into effect on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country's transition towards becoming an independent republic. 26 January was chosen as the Republic day because it was on this day in 1930 when Declaration of Indian Independence (Purna Swaraj) was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress, as opposed to the Dominion status offered by British Regime.

We wish that may this year bring new happiness, new goals, new achievements and a lot of new inspirations on your life. We also wish that every day of the new year to be filled with success, happiness and prosperity for you.  Happy New Year - 2019

With best wishes,

Morning Assembly

Theme: Democracy

Class 11 conducted the assembly based on the theme 'Democracy'.  Students demonstrated the theme through a skit laying emphasis on the democracy of India.

Democracy is government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.

Theme: Empathy

"How you make others feel about themselves, says a lot about you."

Empathy is a skill like any other human skill. If you get a chance to practice, you can get better at it. The School Assembly was conducted by Grade 6 B on the theme 'Empathy'.
Students demonstrated the theme through a skit laying emphasis on the notion that we should empathize with each other at all times.
