One size can't fit all

Time to introspect --
Whether we are trying to fit square pegs in round holes, with disastrous consequences for the evolution of the child concerned.
Whether it be parents like in 3 idiots or teachers functioning in classrooms, we need to assess accurately the natural bent of our kids. All of us can't be as versatile as Michelangelo.
And for that we need to arm ourselves with tools like empathy and oversight. We need to sit down and lend a patient private ear.
Mind their words, when they tell us what is on their minds.
Stereotypes and stereotypical thinking need to be defenestrated (borrowing from Shashi Tharoor) and a healthy respect for all professions and all streams be inculcated in their minds.
We must acknowledge that there is a world beyond mainstream jobs.
The job landscape is metamorphosing at a breathtaking pace.
Why not let our youngsters discover their penchant and work wholeheartedly on it ++
Let them chase their dreams and carve a distinct niche for themselves.
